Solutions such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT) are increasingly recurring concepts in the business world, as they are part of the pool of services required for the digital transformation of companies.
All of them find their common denominator in cloud computing, which has been developing and maturing in the market for several years now.
A turning point. Deciding between jumping on the technology bandwagon or remaining stagnant is the dilemma facing corporations today, who, given a pandemic context, just like people, have been forced to promote changes in the way they manage their daily routines and the way they relate and communicate.
Overnight it was necessary to implement teleworking on a massive scale and online classes, thus increasing the virtualization of processes, both in the work and social spheres. Digital transformation is here to stay and information and communications technologies are now the queens of the value chain, as they have gone from being just a support to a fundamental component of the primary activities of industries.
Raul Palacios, director of Multinube Solutions at Gtd, will delve into the importance of Cloud Computing for digital transformation in his participation in the 7th Latin American Congress of Technology and Business Digital America 2022. "When you hear about cloud it is normal to associate it with the world's leading technology giants and hyper-scale public cloud offerings. The truth is that the cloud is much more than the technologies that compose it: it is an operation and service model that allows providing technological resources (processing, storage, services) in an agile way that simply could not be carried out with "traditional" technological implementation methods," he says.
Cloud computing is a natural and transparent extension of traditional IT operations, with different usage models that enable organizations of different sizes and nature to have time-appropriate solutions that can be up and running in hours instead of months, with the flexibility and agility to meet the changing demands of customers, citizens, students, companies or organizations. Access to global scale solutions (hyper-scale), combined with local deployment solutions, which can respond to specific requirements of industries or productive sectors, or regional governments, allows to streamline the digital transformation plans of organizations and provide scalability and elasticity.
